About
I’m Rudie Watzig, and I’m running for the Centennial School Board because I believe in fresh ideas and a new voice to strengthen our schools and our community. As a father of three kids in the Centennial School District—one in grade school, one in middle school, and one in high school—I know firsthand the importance of a strong school system that supports both academic and personal growth.
My vision for Centennial is rooted in academic excellence and community building. I want to see our students improve their academic performance, gain the skills they need for future success, and graduate with confidence in their abilities. Strong schools are the foundation of a strong community, and when we invest in education, we invest in the future of Centennial.
I’m also a strong advocate for youth sports and after-school activities, not just as an opportunity for kids to grow, but as a way to bring our community together. I am the vice president of Centennial Youth Football, where I helped turn a nearly defunct program into a thriving league that brought families together, boosted youth participation, and made our community proud again. Two of our teams won the league title!
Beyond my commitment to the community, I’m a seasoned IT professional with years of experience solving complex challenges and improving systems. My passion for problem-solving and innovation is something I bring to everything I do.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family. We enjoy camping, gardening, and cooking together. I also have a deep appreciation for the arts, including printmaking and mixing records. I believe that well-rounded interests and experiences help shape a more engaged and creative community, and I want to ensure that Centennial students have the same opportunities to explore and develop their own passions.
Centennial is a great district with incredible potential, and I’m excited to bring a new voice and fresh ideas to the school board. I would be honored to have your support as we work together to build stronger schools and a stronger community for every student, every family, and the future of Centennial.
